Showtime

It's hard to believe it's been an entire year since we got the RiverRun amps cranked up to 11 for the festival, but we're so excited that another go-round is finally upon us.  There are so many amazing films we've been dying to share with you all!  Tonight's opening night screening of One Night Stand is sure to leave a grin on your face, and it's the first time in a few years that we've been fortunate enough to have the filmmakers in town for opening night!  Trish Dalton and Elisabeth Sperling, co-directors of the film, will be on hand to answer questions and talk about the film following tonight's screening at the Stevens Center, 7:00pm sharp...hope to see you all there!  Here are a few more updates going into opening weekend that you might want to be aware of!

Ron Livingston, star of Queens of Country, to attend RiverRun!

Just confirmed! Ron Livingston, who stars in Queens of Country, will attend the 6:30pm, Sunday, April 15th screening of the film. The film tells the story of the prettiest girl in a small Arizona town who is obsessed with old time country stars. When she discovers a lost iPod with her boyfriend (Livingston), she becomes convinced that the owner is her soulmate. The film's directors Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke, as well as producer Topper McDaniel, will also attend and participate in a Q & A with the audience after the film. You probably know Livingston best from his role as a disaffected corporate employee (Peter Gibbons) in the film Office Space, a sardonic writer (Jack Berger) in a short-term relationship with Carrie Bradshaw in the TV show Sex and the City, or Captain Lewis Nixon in the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers.

RiverRun Volunteers are Ready

Volunteer orientation was earlier this week, and it was a huge success! More than 300 volunteers are now armed with sweet t-shirts and bags, and they are ready to make this festival happen! Volunteers were afforded an advance screening of Why I Write: The Twin Poets and are begging to see it again!  Not to worry, there's a free and open to the public screening next Friday, April 20th, at 7:00 pm in Hanesbrands Theatre.  We extend a big thank you to these devoted and hard working members of the RiverRun family.
