An amazing amalgamation of concert footage, studio work and personal introspection, this film delves deep into the life of musician Andrew Bird and follows him throughout his rigorous, year-long tour across the country, ending with a concert in his hometown of Chicago.  Director to be in attendance for 4/15 and 4/16 screenings

Chasing Ice

Directed by: Jeff Orlowski, USA, 74 minutes, Rating: TN

One of the most visually stunning films made about global climate change, Chasing Ice demonstrates how renowned photographer James Balog’s Extreme Ice Survey has captured incontrovertible proof of vanishing glaciers across the Arctic. With astounding time-lapse photography, this film gives a visual face to this dire problem.  Director to be in attendance for all three screenings

Chimpanzee

Disneynature takes moviegoers deep into the forests of Africa with Chimpanzee, a new nature film introducing an adorable young chimp named Oscar and his entertaining approach to life in a remarkable story of family bonds and individual triumph.  Oscar's playful curiosity and zest for discovery showcase the intelligence and ingenuity of some of the most extraordinary personalities in the animal kingdom. Working together, Oscar's chimpanzee family--including his mom and the group's savvy leader--navigates the complex territory of the forest.

Crazy Horse

Frederick Wiseman turns his lens on the legendary nude dance club Le Crazy Horse de Paris. Priding itself on world class choreography, this club sets itself apart by mixing burlesque with Broadway-like numbers as well as Cirque du Soleil style feats. 

Darwin

The isolated community of Darwin, CA, population 35, favors itself as a city on the fringes of society, one that doesn’t need the government.  Yet the town is fragile and depends more on the outside world than it realizes.  Darwin is a true, unique American story.

Detropia

The city of Detroit has felt the collapse of US manufacturing probably more than any other American city and the effects are borne in a multitude of ways by the city’s inhabitants.  This film is a visual tapestry of a city desperately trying to reclaim their sense of home.

Ethel

Who better to tell the life story of Ethel Kennedy (widow of the late Bobby Kennedy) than her youngest daughter, Rory.  Incorporating stories told by all eleven of the Kennedy children, this film is a truly intimate, personal and deeply moving portrait of one of the greatest American political families.
